The Ranboob
The Ranboob, a plant creature inhabiting the area adjacent to Saturn Valley. It's clearly an underling of Trillionage Sprout. But there are many mysteries to this creature that must be explored. And I shall explore for you.
Perhaps I should first describe the Ranboob a bit more clearly. It's a walking, green, cactus type thing with orange decorating its mouth and parts of its body. It also carries a little leaf weapon. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill enemy. It often accompanies Tough Mobile Sprouts and Struttin' Evil Mushrooms, and it uses its powder to put your party members to sleep. It also has PSI Shield handy to deal against incoming threats.
The first time I met up with the Ranboob, it seemed like it should be much more powerful than it really was. I easily defeated it, but still, the image of it left me disturbed. Never had I seen such a strange looking enemy.
However, the Ranboob looks strangely like something I'm sure I've seen before, but don't know from where. At first I thought it might've been a wild child raised by plants. But then I realized it had no humanly characteristic except maybe its body composition. It looks like it SHOULD be a human enemy, but it's not. It's sure intelligent enough to be human. It loves to sneak up behind you and deal the first blow or use PSI Shield on its cohorts and provide for a more difficult battle. You don't know how strenuous everything is, when you're trying to make it to Trillionage Sprout and this green plant thing just literally runs out of the nearby bush and attacks.
Now, what would you do should a creature like this run towards you? You bash it, of course. But then you'll anger it. Did I mention that the Ranboob likes to come in pairs? Yes, not only does it get accompanied by Tough (note the "Tough") Mobile Sprouts and Struttin' Evil Mushrooms, it gets help from its own kind as well. The Struttin' Evil Mushrooms are hard enough to defeat as it is, since they can mushroomize you, leaving you messed up. I don't know how many times Ness has knocked Jeff out by this status effect...maybe Ness just doesn't like Jeff.
You think you've come up against everything that could possibly be thrown at you until you encounter this little demon named the Ranboob. But perhaps one day we'll discover the true meaning behind the Ranboob. OK, maybe not.
